Palmetto Elementary weekly reminders: - Palmetto Elementary will be having a Raising Canes night on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Enjoy some Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and help support our school. - Jean day will be Friday, September 8, 2023. Students may wear $1 boots, $1 jeans, $1 shirt, and/or $1 hat. - Parents are encouraged to submit comments on the Parent and Family Engagement Policy by emailing BCortez@slpsb.org by September 29, 2023. Weekly Reminders: There is no school on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Slip on shoes such as Crocs and Yeezys are not allowed. The office is extremely busy in the afternoons. We kindly ask that if you need to check out your student, you do so before 2:30. No check outs will be allowed after 2:30. As per St. Landry Parish School Board policy, students are not allowed to wear jackets and/or sweaters with hoods.

Weekly Reminders: Our school spirit store closes on August 31, 2023. If you plan on ordering spirit wear, please do so before then. Because we have students on campus with severe nut allergies, students are not allowed to bring snacks from home. Please help us keep all of our students healthy.

Ms. Jacobs will not be running this afternoon. Her riders will be on Ms. Payne's bus.

If your child will be arriving on campus after 7:45, please ensure that they have eaten breakfast at home. *School begins at 7:55. *Please check your child's blue school folder to access important beginning of the year forms that need to be filled out and returned to school. *As per St. Landry Parish School Board Policy, all outerwear (sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, coats) must not have a hood. Palmetto Elementary Meet & Greet tomorrow, August 8, 2023, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Please come join us to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, and pay school fees (if you are paying cash, please bring exact change if possible). If your child is entering 3rd-6th grade, have them wear their uniform shirt to take their ID pictures. Spirit store orders are in and are ready for pick up in the office.

Palmetto Elementary school registration/technology fee information for the 2023-2024 school year. Kindergarten through 6th grade will need to pay a School Registration Fee of $25.00 for the first student and $15 for each additional student, plus the District Technology Fee of $10.00 per student in the household.
