PVE Parents and Guardians of Kindergarten and 1st Graders: 21st Century After School Tutoring begins Monday, October 21, 2024. This year is dedicated to Kindergarten and 1st grade academic foundation building. Tutoring will take place Monday through Thursday beginning at 3:15-5:15. If you signed up for a bus, student will go home on Bus 638, Mr. Jerry. If your child will be a car rider, you must have them picked up each day by 5:15. Snacks will be provided after school for students. Ms. Elizabeth Stone is the coordinator for after school tutoring.

Important St. Landry Parish School District Announcement: After consulting with the Office of Emergency Preparedness, all schools and administrative offices will be open tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2024. However, please be aware that there may be transportation delays due to the aftermath of Hurricane Francine. Given the extensive geography of our parish, we understand that some areas may face challenges. Message from PVE: Important Notice: School Early Dismissal and Closure Due to Severe Weather We are closely monitoring weather forecasts that indicate the potential for severe conditions, including a heightened risk of flooding, starting as early as Wednesday, September 11, 2024. In light of this situation, we have decided to implement an early dismissal for all St. Landry Parish schools and administrative offices on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, to give families time to prepare for impending landfall. Schools will follow early dismissal schedules for bus and car riders. PVE will dismiss at 12:25 WEDNESDAY. Please be in car rider line for 12:20. Furthermore, all schools and offices will remain closed on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. We hope to resume normal school operations on Thursday, September 12, 2024. However, should there be any changes, we will update you via text message and our social media platforms. We thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we take these necessary precautions. We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your cooperation.

The Opelousas Senior High School football game will take place tonight, September 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The location of the game has been moved to Teurlings Catholic High School due to the conditions of the field. Teurlings Catholic High School is located at 139 Teurlings Drive in Lafayette, La. Please come out and support our tigers.

PVE: Reminders- students are not to be escorted to class by parents anymore. The PreK - Kindergarten grace period is over now. If your child is late, please sign them in at the front office and we will see about getting them to class. Students are not allowed to ride busses they are assigned through the transportation department. Please contact transportation AND the teacher if there is a need for a temporary bus change for some reason. Thank you for your understanding.
